There's nothing like your swimming pool on a hot day, Richie!
The kids enjoy a swim on a hot summer day. Reggie makes a mean remark about Freckles being overdressed, which he denies. However, Richie mentions he has a picture of Frecklss wearing a hat, earmuffs, sweater, coat and shoes. Reggie doesn't buy the claim, and vows to donate money to charity if Richie proves it is fact. It is a fact - a picture of Freckles wearing all that clothing while skating on a pool, taken the previous January.

Mr. Woody has ordered piles of lumber which Mr. Rich didn't really need. Mr. Woody puts the excess lumber to good use by building an all-purpose storage building. After Mr. Rich gets robbed of important documents, the crooks enter Mr. Woody's creation to use as a hideout until dusk. The farm superintendnt is apparently missing livestock, and Richie believes they sought refuge in the building. Richie's string was used to help free the livestock and the police arrested the two crooks.

The Fifth National Savings Bank had a problem on its hands greater than it had ever before known.
The bank that Richie goes to is in danger of bankruptcy due to Richie receiving a lot of prizes for opening a bank account with one billion dollars. The shipping costs are expected to be the cause of bankruptcy. It turns out Richie already did receive the prizes, and decided have the amount of the prizes donated to the Community Fund.

There is a four-panel Casper promotional strip (chipmunks version) on the bottom of the first page, and a Richie Rich readership poll on the bottom of the second page, the latter of which was, oddly enough, printed in black and white.
