Synopsis: Linda was the "Gossip Queen", writing a column in the school paper. Linda was swept off her feet by the newest senior, Tom Mitchell but he was put off by her public displays of affection. Tom began dating Ellen Porter but Linda couldn't stand losing Tom to someone so drab and used her column to ruin Ellen's reputation. Believing Linda's lies Tom broke up with a shocked Ellen who wandered into the woods. When she was found standing on the edge of a cliff Linda confessed that her stories were lies and Tom only cared for her. Linda told Wayne she didn't deserve anyone's love after what she did.

Cynthia overhears remarks that Hank was using her to help the team but he assures her otherwise. Weeks later Hank asks Cynthia to help Truck cheat. She initially agrees but can't follow through. Hank tells Cynthia he couldn't have respected her if she had helped Truck cheat.

Synopsis: Jackie Lang was a shy student but decides to attend the theater audition. Director Allan Brady asks Jackie to read and her friends are amazed at her performance. Winning the part Allan helps her with the love scene. Sparks flew as both realized their feelings were real but on opening night Jackie heard someone calling Allen. The woman wearing an engagement ring passionately kissed him. Later Allan tried to explain to Jackie that he was engaged. As the curtain rose Jackie threw herself into the role, delivering a powerful performance and receiving thundering applause but her tears are real.

They went steady, but when Stella asked Ronny to come to a party for her 17th birthday, he told her that he couldn't, that he had a big game the next day, and had to turn in by 9. Even though he tried to explain that, as captain, he had a responsibility to the other members of the team; she erupted and broke up with him. The next day, Red, the leading scorer of the team, asked her out and she promised him a kiss, only if he scored more points than Ronny. At the game, Red was shooting well, but with no teamwork, the team was losing. Realizing she made a mistake, she begged the coach to talk to them and explained what she had done. Working together, the team won, and Stella went up to the two afterwards. Fulfilling her promise to Red, she gave him a kiss, but told Ronny that, "from now on my lips are reserved for you." "You lucky Goop," muttered Red.
