Synopsis: The Hulkbusters try to take on the Hulk but, even with the help of a ton of Avengers, they can't stop the jade giant. The doctor tells Betty that when Bruce was separated from the Hulk, the process was incomplete, and both Bruce and the Hulk are now dying. She-Hulk arrives at the battle scene to try and soothe the savage beast but is punched out for her trouble. The Avengers decide to try and kill the Hulk.

Synopsis: Bruce continues to weaken and the doctors fear the only way to stabilize him is to merge him with the Hulk once again. The Avengers continue to battle the Hulk and are only able to defeat him as he begins to weaken due to his separation from Banner. Hercules prepares to kill the fallen Hulk but Betty intervenes and pleads for his life.

Synopsis: With Bruce lying in a hospital and the Hulk felled by the Avengers, the two of them begin to expand and become intangible as the separation of man and monster is killing them. Rick calls the Vision who agrees to leave his pregnant wife to help. Vision becomes intangible himself and merges with Bruce, turning him solid enough and small enough to make the trek to the fallen Hulk. The Vision merges Bruce back into the Hulk but struggles to free himself as the Hulk wakes up and tries to take over. Only a plea from Betty allows the Vision to escape Hulk's body.

Synopsis: With the Hulk and Banner merged once again, he is restrained at Gamma Base as he continues to switch from one to the other. Banner tries to emerge from the Hulk's chest and kill himself while the jade giant is forced to protect him. The Hulk escapes from his restraints and is chased toward Samson's nutrient bath. Ross tries to monkey with the equipment being used to cure Banner of the Hulk and, when Rick intervenes, Ross knocks him into the bath. The Hulk is submerged in the same tank and busts out of the side as the grey version of the Hulk but he quickly reverts to Banner.
