Synopsis:
Maggie experiences unease with several of the guests at an artsy party Pat is hosting in her East Coast residence. On the way back to Mary's apartment where they're staying, Maggie and Hopey find Mary has thrown out their stuff. In a flashback sequence to the duo's punk years, Terry pranks Maggie by taking her to meet Lois, a sexually aggressive party host and a big fan of one of Maggie's relatives.
Notes:
It's unstated which city the characters are in but likely New York City. A silhouette resembling the Empire State Building is seen in the background of one panel.
After this story Maggie and Hopey go their separate ways and won't reunite until almost six years later in issue fifty.

Synopsis:
Isobel tries to threaten Peter by saying she'll tell Luba all about him. Blas tells Peter he wants in on the drug business. Luba begins her addiction to injectable drugs with help of her friends Pepa and Lucy. Fermin visits once again and gives Luba a gift as his son Peter seems to finally decide to meet up with him.
