Hey, kids, our rich old uncle Scrooge McDuck wants us to drive over and see him!
Uncle Scrooge and the ducks go to Scotland to find the treasure hidden in the walls of the old McDuck castle, and there they encounter a "ghost" that is invisible except for the shadow cast by its skeleton. The "ghost" soon steals the treasure and traps the ducks on a balcony a hundred feet above the ground. The nephews get down safely, find a secret entrance to the castle through an old graveyard, and expose the ghost as a thief.

This early version of Scrooge may not yet be "The World's Richest Duck", as he says to Donald: "The McDuck fortune is in bad shape! I must raise several million dollars immediately!"

This story profoundly influences portions of "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" by Don Rosa, particularly so in its first chapter - appearing in the United States in Uncle Scrooge (Gladstone, 1993 Series) #285 (April 1994). https://www.comics.org/issue/54814/

Donald is the assistant guard in the museum at Duckburg!
The ducks and a museum curator race Azure Blue, a descendant of the Vikings, to the coast of Labrador to find a golden helmet, left by a Viking explorer, that will give Blue title to all of North America. Once the helmet is saved from Blue, the curator, Donald, Lawyer Sharky - and even one of Donald's nephews (!) - have visions of ruling the continent.
