Synopsis: Polaroid turns everyone, with the exception of Jory (who's fascinated by the structure and ontology of the Backstage) and Sasha (who's infatuated with Polaroid) into the tool or object by which they function Backstage. He reveals that he is part of a party that was lost in the Backstage in 1987. Jory rescues his friends and returns them to the campus, where they learn that they have been missing for two months.

Synopsis: The boys are in deep trouble after having "run away" for two months. They're forbidden access to the theater, they're forbidden interaction with each other, they've been replaced by a professional backstage crew, and their faculty advisor is fired. But Jory confronts Mr. Rample over the fact that Rample one of the crew lost in 1987, and the fact that Polaroid is trying to unleash the Backstage magic into the world. When Kevin McQueen disappears, Rample leads the Backstagers on one last mission: to find him and bring him back.

First Line: Do you think it's real?
Synopsis: Jory and Hunter reach the Arch-Theater to find Kevin, as Blake calls him back by performing their duet on the school stage. Tim and Jamie lead stage crews from across the world to help. Mr. Rample confronts Polaroid, explaining that he is only a ghost; the real Polaroid's body was found and buried thirty years before. Rample erases the ghost, and the magic that is leaking into the world recedes to the Backstage. The McQueens are back to their usual obnoxious selves, and the Backstagers are back on the job, prepping for tomorrow's opening night.
