Two new alternate universe versions of the Enterprise crew are introduced in this issue, the first are botanical-based life forms, the second are gas-based life forms (only Scotty is shown from the gas-based crew).

We also see a future timeline where the Augments rose to power after winning the Eugenics War, ruled by Empress Khan, a female descendant of the original Khan.
