That comic strip storyline was written by Jerry Siegel with pencils by Curt Swan, and inks by Stan Kaye. This story was not a reprint of the comic strip one, but a reused concept. That comic strip was reprinted in "Superman the Silver Age Dailies" (The Library of American Comics, 2013).
