The delay is likely attributable to financial difficulties the company faced at the time. Editor and publisher Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson took on Harry Donenfeld as a partner in order to publish the book. The ad promotes work by creators including Tom Hickey, Sven Elven, Bill Patrick, Creig Flessel, Jerry Siegel (misspelled in the ad as "Seigel"), Joe Shuster, Homer Fleming and Alger (a pseudonym of Russell Cole).
