It's the McCabe gang!
The Abeline Kid is shot during a bank holdup. Sheriff Cotrell has Doc take care of him, above the objections of townsfolk who want to simply let him die. He serves five years on the rock pile, and then goes looking for his old mentor, the outlaw Matt McCabe. No one will give him work, until he lights upon the ranch of ex-Sheriff Cotrell, who takes him in, When McCabe comes gunning for Cotrell the Kid saves him, sacrificing his own life in the bargain.

Cattle are being rustled and seemingly disappear into thin air. A Pinkerton man is sent for, and when the stage arrives there are two passengers. One is an agressive sharp shooter, the other a short, dumpy, meek-mannered man. People assume it is the former of these, Blaine Farell, who is the detective, but are amazed when the unlikely-looking man, Donald Bestor, proves to actually be from Pinkerton.

Hank Jelks an' his gang...
Gunslinger Utah Kid is hired whenever trouble comes round, but no one wants him settling in their community. He wanders around feeling lonely and dejected until he decides to buy a ranch under his given name of Clay Sanders. He courts Molly Forbes, but his refusal to wear guns generates a lot of speculation among members of the community. When an old adversary, Hank Jelks, come to town, Sanders tries to hide, but Jelks recognizes him and forces him to straps on guns. Sanders outdraws and outshoots them with ease, and he gains the respect of the community for both his skill and retraint.
