Tabu senses trickery afoot and, in seeking to stop it, accidentally wounds a boy, unwittingly falling into a well-laid trap set by the magicians. Tabu quickly learns the error of his ways and exposes the tricks of the magicians and chases them into the jungle with his illusions.

While seated there, Randy overhears a threat to the judge's life and tries to follow the plotters, but instead sees the judge's son kidnapped. He discovers that the statue is loaded with explosives, timed to go off during a citizen's committee speech to be given by the judge.

The Tapps decide to secure a walk-on role in a new production based on the horrific plague that occured in 1557. After their scene is over, they retreat to the balcony to watch the rest of the play and notice that the bald heads of orchestra members spell "DEATH"! As the Flying Fist and Bingo, they investigate the situation and discover that a person, dressed as the astrologer in the play, is the killer of one of the actors.
