Mesmero offers Spider-Man four hundred dollars a week if he will agree to make special appearances in his Broadway show. Unfortunately, the drama critic for the Globe hates Mesmero's performance and pans him in the newspaper. When Spidey shows up for his curtain call, Mesmero tries to kill him in front of a captive audience.
