First Line: Fiona Stuart had traveled as far as possible by rail. Now a boat would take her to her destination in the Hebrides.
Synopsis: Fiona is on her way to an island to rejoin her fiancé and get married when bad weather forces the boat to turn back to a nearby harbor. The next day she strolls in the countryside while waiting for her boat to depart when she falls and injures herself. She regains consciousness in a bed at a farm. She immediately begins to develop feelings for her rescuer, but decides not to tell him about her fiancé since it is only a few hours until her boat departs.
