Synopsis:
After arriving in Africa to join her father following the death of her mother in England, Jane learns that her father was also recently dead, shot in the back two weeks earlier. She learns that she has one third share in her father's copper mine, along with her brother and Garry, the overseer who had saved her father's life a year earlier during a mine accident. It quickly becomes apparent that Garry does most of the work, while her brother resents Garry and spends most of his time drinking.
