Little Beaver
Little Beaver; Po-ko; Auntie Duchess; Patch (a paint pinto horse); Dr. Blaine (a surgeon)
'What you call-um hospital, Auntie Duchess?' asked Little Beaver, who had walked into the ranch house with his small girl friend, Po-ko.
Red goes to a hospital in the Big Town to have a bullet from an old bullet wound removed. Little Beaver wants to go see, but tours aren't available, so he rides and is thrown by Patch, then complains of back pain. Po-ko fears the hospital will remove his spine. After his operation, Red gets wise to Little Beaver's trick, and gets Blaine's help in getting turnabout, with an ice cube to fake the feel of a scalpel, and a dry backbone. After the laugh, Red gives Little Beaver the slug the doc removed, and says he'll show him the sights of Big Town. Little Beaver says the spine will impress Po-ko.
