Status, Lieutenant?
In one universe, six members of the Legion of Super-Heroes are crossing time in a time bubble when they find themselves caught, as if in a timestorm. In another universe, the crew of the Starship Enterprise heads for Earth so that Captain Kirk can give the commencement speech at this year's Starfleet Academy graduation ceremony. Both groups arrive on Earth in the 23rd century, but in a universe not their own.

...To announce that our forces have achieved victory over the Durlan insurrectionists. The changelings of Durla offer no further threat.
The two teams try to get a handle on their situations under hostile conditions. Both Brainiac 5 and Spock suspect tampering with the timeline, with the Legionnaires tracing suspicious chronal energy right into a face-to-face meeting with the crew of the Enterprise.

...And by the time the others regained consciousness and restored me to full functionality, the violators had fled with our transport.
The teams track the temporal anomalies in the distant past and the present to the same man, Vandar the Stone, though the Legionnaires know him as Vandal Savage and the crew of the Enterprise knows him as Flint.

That should do it, young lady. Take it easy for a few hours, and you should be right as rain.
While those in the future are entertained by Vandar's account of his history, the others in the past are led to the source of Vandar's power and the anomaly in time.
