The Direct (first printing), Newsstand and Canadian variants have the regular cover differences in pricing, and UPC box contents, but have the same indicia, inside front cover, inside back cover, and back cover content. Some copies contain a 12 page insert for the Mask comic series.
The second, third and fourth printing variants were distributed to the direct market only, the content on the inside front cover, inside back cover and back cover varied, with some advertisements having a 1989 copyright date. The content of the UPC box is different from the Direct (first printing) UPC box, while the second and fourth printing have the same UPC content. The indicia for the second and fourth printing have additional text indicating the printing sequence. The indicia of the third printing is identical to the indicia of the first printing.
