Rosanna D'Armagnac is a skilled swordswoman navigating danger and intrigue in the 16th-century French royal court. After discovering her noble lineage, she goes to Paris to try to reclaim her confiscated family lands. She gains favor with Queen Anne but faces obstacles from Anne's mother Marie de Medici, who rules behind the throne with her Italian lover. Rosanna works to uncover Marie's political conspiracies by teaming up with the Gypsies. Ultimately, the Countess regains her property and gets revenge on Marie for causing her family's ruin, overcoming court betrayals and corruption along the way.
