From 1842 Benjamin H. Day is an unlisted partner to publish Brother Jonathan and becomes sole listed publisher for that publication from 1852 to 1862.
In 1855 B.H. Day's Brother Jonathan Cheap Book Establishment catalog publishes the 32-panel comic strip Peter Piper in Bengal by John Tenniel (from Punch) and advertises Obadiah Oldbuck (25 cents) and A Day's Sport, drawn by Henry L. Stevens (12.5 cents).
