Meanwhile, in his underground laboratory beneath a cemetery, the Clown is very hard at work and decides to visit the circus in order to see a killer ape that has been stricken with epamonia, a rare jungle malady. Creating a diversion, the Clown kidnaps the beast in order to draw his blood and attempt to create a serum of death to humans as part of his mad plan to rule America.

The Red Demon sits on a throne in parts unknown, musing over the circumstances that turned Judge Straight into the crime buster, The Red Demon. A gangster, Boss Brewster, is killed at a masquerade party and one Joe Monsi is arrested for the crime and sentenced to die for it. However, a remark from Monsi's wife somehow rings true to the judge, who decides to go out among the criminal element to see how the other half lives. In doing so, he tracks down the Brewster Gang, and as The Red Demon, brings them to justice, and clears Monsi's name.

Sniffer agrees and Iron Jaw scams the lad with fake money. To make matters worse, Iron Jaw's new face charms Lucy into falling for him!

The U.S. Cruiser "Brooklyn" spots a weird, flying metal object and radios authorities with information. But the mysterious object blows the ship to pieces as well as the S.S. Aurentic which was sent to investigate. The mysterious craft then appears over Washington D.C. and shoots down every airplane sent to intercept it, then disappears. The President's Cabinet decides to turn the matter over to the dying Dr. Gilday. He travels to his lab to finish work on his Atomic Supervitalizer anyway and accidentally falls into it, gaining tremendous powers and abilities, and vows to take on the craft.

While writing his memoirs, retired Judge Fragelet muses over sentencing a criminal named Bruin to jail, when suddenly he is killed from behind by escapee Bruin. When Judge Straight reads of this in the morning paper, he, as The Red Demon, searches the late judge's home and discovers a clue to the killer: a peanut shell, which leads The Demon to Bruin and to trial. However, "Blinky" escapes on the way to court, and The Demon once again must track him down to bring justice. By a twist of fate, "Blinky" saves the Demon and a little girl, displaying the fact that there is good in everyone.
